Double celebration for Kedah

KEDAH won the third Minister of Education League Cup (MELC) when they beat Terengganu 3-2 in the Under-14 final at the Stadium Darul Aman on Sunday.
The northern team’s win in the highly-competitive school league system follows that of Selangor in 2008 and Bandar Penawar Sports School last year.
Terengganu took the lead in the 18th minute when Muhd Akram Asidi capitalised on some hesitant Kedah defending to slot home the ball.
The hosts, to their credit, kept their cool and were soon rewarded with an equaliser when Muhd Ariff Farhan Mohd Isa found the back of the net in the 35th minute.
Kedah stepped on the gas after the break and Muhd Fitri Che Hassan got a quick double scoring in the 45th and 47th minutes.
Terengganu fought back gallantly and reduced the deficit with Muhd Akram scoring again in the last minute of play.
“I did not want the boys to take too long finding an equaliser and today (Sunday), they showed a high level of commitment playing as a team,” said Kedah coach Basirul Abu Bakar.
Terengganu, though disappointed, kept their faith and will be looking to make the final again next year and go one better and lift the crown.
“Kedah deserved to win because they were better organised. Our ball positioning was weak compared to Kedah. We tried our best but we were just not good enough especially when playing under pressure,” said Terengganu coach Zainudin Mohd Zain.
“We want to make the final again next year and with new players, I hope we can win the title.”
Kedah made it a double when they also won Under-17 league crown, beating Pahang 2-1 in the final.
RESULTS (both finals) – Under-14: Kedah 3 Terengganu 2; Under- 17: Kedah 2 Pahang 1.
It also provides additional interest and excitement to the game. However, it should be limited to one for each player each game and must be agreed upon by all players or the tournament director before it is adopted in a session. Apart from the roll-over, there are other variants such as chouette, opening roll and the beaver. They are explained in greater detail in this article.
Roll-Over
Once during the game, each player can decide either to roll again or to have his opponent roll again. A player must decide to roll again before he picks up his dice; that is, before he completes his turn. A player can wait until his opponent completes his turn (seeing how he moves) before deciding to have the opponent roll again. The opponent cannot double before rolling again; he must wait until the next turn to double.

MILLERSBURG — On his own, but not before a court order, a Prairie Township man finally cleaned up what health officials claimed to be a decade-long nuisance on his property.
At a recent meeting of the Holmes County District Board of Health, Commissioner Dr. D.J. McFadden showed photos of the cleanup effort made at the property of Victor Whytsell.
Whytsell is under a contempt order issued in Holmes County Common Pleas Court to clean up the property, located at 9114 State Route 83, Holmesville. The court order came as a consequence of Whytsell’s failure to comply with an Aug. 28 health department demand he clean up the land because it posed a health risk.
Workers hired to remove the junk on the property hauled off 140 tons of trash, which was properly disposed of in a landfill, said McFadden. “About half of the waste was hidden, buried ..

They might be family, but don’t just show up at their door unannounced.
* You may want to create some very specific questions. Take a look at the information you have accumulated. Are there any topics that you would like to discuss with certain family members? Relating one of your memories can lead to reminiscing and interesting anecdotes.
* Remember that each family member will have a version of events from their own perspective. Resist the urge to correct them. This is their interpretation. We are each individuals with our own unique vantage point to the world. If you want to enjoy the study of family history it is best if you realise there is no right or wrong to these viewpoints. Do not expect others to share identical memories with you.
* Bring photos and other memorabilia to share. These can help to spark memories.

A TATTOO nut makes a spectacle of himself – by having glasses inked on his face.
Film of the man, known only as Matthew, getting the tattoo is now a YouTube sensation.
The tattooist, shown left, even asks: “Dude, are you sure? You can’t back out now.”
But Californian Matthew calls the artwork “awesome”, despite resembling short-sighted cartoon berk Mr Magoo.
He even puts on sunglasses until a voice says: “You don’t need those any more.”
Some 500,000 people have seen the clip

However the 1963 Sting Ray coupe is now the most sought after model of second generation Corvettes.
Like all Corvettes, the Sting Ray’s body is constructed of fiberglass panels mounted on a steel ladder frame. Another new feature was the hidden twin pop-up headlights, which not only added style they aided in aerodynamic efficiency. Other styling cues of the Sting Ray include optional side mounted exhaust, a power bulge on the hood (this was wider for the Corvettes that had the big block engine), and absence of a trunk lid (access is from behind the seats). Additionally the Corvette’s convertible top folds away completely when not in use and is stored beneath a flush fitting fiberglass panel behind the driver.

Condoms are easy to use. The intervention of a health care professional is not required.
7. Condoms are a highly reliable method of birth control when used properly. On average they are up to 98% effective.
6. No need to “take” a pill that impacts your entire body and alters natural processes. Condoms are only required when you are having sex.
5. Unlike the alternatives, condoms can actually enhance the sexual experience because they are available in many sizes, shapes, textures, and flavours.
4. There are no medical side effects as with virtually all other birth control methods.
3. Condoms help protect women from infections and the development of cancer of the cervix.
2. When used properly, condoms are the only contraceptive that helps to prevent the spread of sexually transmitted diseases, including HIV.
1. Condoms are neat and tidy and make sex less messy.
Many people who have tried the alternatives are returning to condoms. They have decided the potential side-effects of other methods are not acceptable, or they are simply unwilling to tamper with the natural cycles of their body.
